  • School Mission
  • Budget Update: Anticipated Carry over: $9,634- On track, everyone is hired whom we anticipate.
  • Welcome: Approve Minutes- Debbie Brough- Motion to approve, Haleigh Beecher Second
  • Safe Routes to School Plan: Every School (middle and elementary school do), Make sure we have safe routes for students to get to school, we submit them to the district and UDOT to review and update.
    • MLMS- now has a map up- Aubree Johnson is working with Spencer Homlgren to make sure it is up to date and accessible. 
    • Elementary Schools look good. 
    • The walking route is 2 miles this year. 
    • What makes crossing safe?
      • Crosswalks
      • Crossing guards
      • Flags
    • Our responsibility:
      • Map of the safest walking and biking routes to school
      • Text description of routes and key crossing points
      • Education and encouragement: assemblies, walk and roll events, safe messages. 
      • Infrastructure needs: Sidewalks, signage, school pavement marking, bike parking. 
    • Current Problems exist for MLMS?
      • 700 N 100 E - Lots of crossing, Southeast corner of Smith’s, After school (3:45-4:00), direction traveling South for kids. Cars all directions
        • Flags, crosswalk, flashing sign- push button. 
        • East side heading south- something needed
      • 800n N 100 E- west bound, some east bound as well. 
        • Change the cross walk to the east side of the current parking lot exit. - Not ADA- could be an issue if UDOT is not willing to change. Possibly make it a right turn only out of the school parking lot. 
        • Move cross walk to 150 N 800 E- Right at the day care. 
      • 800 N 200 E with crossing guard. Crosswalk before 800 N- Cannot see students standing there. Feels unsafe- Trees hide people. Seems too soon. Lots of kids missed this area. 
        • Flags, crosswalk (there but hard to see). Flashing lights signal with push button, Move to the north side to be better soon. 
      • School grounds
        • Students walking from the south. There is no sidewalk to get into the school south side where buses leave the front. Students have to ride on that road to get to the back of the school where the basketball hoops are. Possibly put a side walk in. 
        • This is an area where Spencer Holmgren wants to put in an activity space for students. 
          • Turn it into a green space (might not be possible due to needing a fire lane.

    • Data from our Math and Reading
  • Public Input:
    • Canvas- Students creating discussion discussing how boarding a class is
    • Google Slides- Ship pages, slides where they add youtube with videos. 
    • School Shootings- Lock down drills (doing on tomorrow), teach students and teachers to go to a covered corner that does have a line of sight, doors should be locked at all times. School resource officers, Guardian at the school- who is training to conceal carry and trained. Run, Hide, Fight method. News locks that notify admin of open doors, Open eyes that will lock the door it sees something that might be a weapon.
