Agenda 

  • Highlights- Orchestra participated in a competition at USU. They did great! Shout out to the Band and Orchestra. 
  • School Mission:  It is the mission of the Mount Logan Middle school to ensure all students leave our school ready to create a positive future for themselves and their community.
  • Budget Update:
    • Estimated Carryover: $2,848.64 or 1%
    • We are using every bit of the budget
  • Review April Minutes for Approval:
    • First: Haleigh Beecher
    • Second: Isabell Oray
  • MLMS Community Council election/selection of chair and vice chair
    • Review from last time of types of members
    • Must have 2 more parents than school members
    • Need: 2 leadership roles: Spencer Motioned for Nomination of Chairs for 2026-2027 School Year
      • Chair- Must be a parent
        • Isabell Oray- Nominated
          • Approved by all
      • Vice Chair- Can be a parent or employee (but not the principal)
        • Debbie Brough- Nominated
          • Approved by al
  • Public Input
    • Still cannot get a hold of the city for changing the crosswalk at MLMS. 
    • The schedule for next year will be coming soon.
    • Any new things from this year that are exciting or that are going to change?
      • Lots of success for the literacy block 
      • With the literacy block we are going to change the schedule around so that it does not change every term. That is the same class you will have all year (Like a homeroom). We will take time away from the return of your computer time to make that shorter to add in transition times for students to move between rooms. 
      • We are not doing coding anymore and instead doing drones for CTE
      • Needs to improve: Math in 6th grade as there was no improvement.
      • Added a reading interventionist- currently hiring for that. 
        • Role- will work with students on reading (benchmarks, Achieve 3000,ect.) This teacher will help pull students and go into the classroom and give teachers advice on how to make reading better in their classrooms.
